Ginny and I became fast friends when she arrived from Oklahoma at 9 months old, wild as a bird.  It took three weeks to get a halter on her, but soon she began to accept my attention and return the affection. At just a year old, I suspected she was greying and I did a hair test for color.  She did indeed have the grey gene.  I was disappointed as this is not ideal for producing color when  bred to an Appaloosa stallion. Over time the grey gene will cause the loss of pattern.  You can see as you look back that Ginny arrived with a golden color and heavy dun markings.  Those are gone now, but not her beauty.  Last year I tried without success to breed her to an AQHA stallion via AI.   After two tries,  I brought her home to Junior.  His disposition and smooth way of moving is a great match for Ginny.  I hope the baby has the best of both .  She is due to foal in late April.

Ginny has been tested for HERDA, GBED and PSSM1 and is negative.  She has no Impressive breeding, so she is n/n for HYPP as well.
